Most Common Urgent Care Visits

One of the best aspects of our jobs working in Urgent Care is that no two days are the same. Urgent Care allows us to experience all types of patients with different conditions and situations that need our help.

Our team at South Coast Medical Group is highly qualified and trained to be on the front lines of an urgent need. We can provide immediate attention and quality treatment for a wide range of conditions.

Here are the most common visits we see in Urgent Care:

Respiratory Illness

A day doesn’t go by without getting a visit from someone with a respiratory illness. While the severity of these types of conditions changes throughout the seasons, patients suffering from the common cold, influenza, and other illnesses come into our office all year round. These illnesses are not life-threatening but do require attention to recover.

Most respiratory illnesses patients have symptoms such as:

  • Coughing
  • Sneezing
  • Congestion
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Sore Throat

Injuries

Aside from catching a common cold, many Urgent Care visits involve injuries. Normally, patients who come in experiencing pain or trauma do not have a chronic issue. Small accidents that need immediate attention but are not fatal can be treated by our team. Dr. Cheng specializes in sports medicine and is able to treat a wide range of athlete injuries.

Injuries can involve:

  • Sprains
  • Pulled and Strained Muscles
  • Burns
  • Whiplash
  • Fractures
  • Swelling

Common Infections

Infections can occur in many parts of the body. Most of these are not severe and can be cured with antibiotics. It is important to seek help when experiencing an infection because without the proper care; infections can grow into serious problems.

We tend to see these infections in patients:

  • Pink Eye
  • Urinary Tract Infection
  • Ear Infection
  • Skin Infection (Cellulitis)

With long waiting times in the emergency room and primary care appointments, patients need a place where they can receive immediate attention. Along with regular care, our office also offers x-rays on site in order to provide patients with immediate resources for recovery. Our team is able to provide the communities in Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, and Laguna Beach with the proper personal care.
